Hello there Coffee lovers!

Let’s talk morning coffee and all the goodies that come with it.

Do you ever get out of bed and have coffee on your mind? I know I do.

And that’s saying a lot for someone who only started vibing with coffee a year ago. I am drawn to coffee in th morning than any other time during the day so when I saw this study about morning coffee and its heart benefits, I knew I had to share.

Coffee Drinking Timing

This study on the effect of coffee drinking time was carried out on over 40,000 people over a few years. Even though the people are not Nigerian, the study is valid for every coffee drinker and that’s the interest I developed reading it and thinking about my love for morning coffee.

So what’s the big deal about coffee drinking times?

According to the study, two patterns of coffee-drinking times were observed. The morning type (36% of participants) and the all-day type (14% of participants). It was concluded that drinking coffee in the morning may be more associated with a lower risk of mortality than drinking coffee later in the day.

See the study for the full report above.

Most people need a coffee fix before starting their day. Could this mean they subconsciously know the best time to have coffee or is this a coincidence?

3 Powerful Reasons Your Morning Coffee Helps Your Heart Health

If you’re a morning coffee lover, you’re not just fueling your day, you are also doing your heart a favour. Here’s a closer look at why having your coffee early in the day could support your cardiovascular health, with practical insights you can use:

1. Your Body Loves (and needs) a Good Rhythm

Do you know that your body has a natural clock called the circadian rhythm? It helps regulate your sleep-wake cycles, metabolism, and even your hormones. Drinking coffee in the morning works best with this circadian rhythm because your body’s cortisol levels (the hormone that helps you feel awake) peak early in the day.
When you drink coffee in the morning, you’re giving your system a boost at a time when it’s already primed for energy. The opposite is true for most people—if you drink coffee later in the day, it can mess with your sleep. Poor sleep is a cause of heart issues like high blood pressure and increased stress. Morning coffee therefore protects both your sleep and your heart.

2. Coffee’s Anti-Inflammatory Powers Work Best Early

Coffee is packed with antioxidants that fight inflammation, which is a big culprit in heart disease. When you drink coffee in the morning, your body has the entire day to process and benefit from the antioxidants in the coffee.
Also, starting your day with an anti-inflammatory beverage sets the tone for healthier choices throughout the day.

3. Morning Coffee Gets Your Blood Pumping When You Need It Most

Most of us need a little help to get going in the morning. Coffee doesn’t just wake up your brain; it also stimulates blood flow, which is important for cardiovascular health. Drinking coffee in the morning helps get your circulation moving during your most active hours, supporting your body as you move through your day.
If you combine your coffee habit with a brisk morning walk or light exercise, you increase those benefits. Movement and caffeine both improve circulation, reduce stiffness, and boost overall heart health. So, why not make it a habit to grab your coffee, lace up your shoes, and start your day with energy?

Conclusion

Your morning coffee isn’t just a ritual—it’s an opportunity to support your heart and overall health. By timing it right, you’re not only enjoying a comforting cup but also making a choice that aligns with how your body works best. So, sip with intention, savour the moment, and let your coffee do more than just wake you up.
