Introduction

Zuma Coffee has one major task – to empower coffee lovers around Nigeria to brew their coffee at home, even without fancy equipment.

This July Zuma Coffee is upping its task in Abuja with exciting developments, new collaborations, and a continued commitment to revolutionizing Nigeria’s coffee culture. As we move into the second half of the year, we’re not just beating the heat with refreshing brews – we’re turning up the heat on our mission to empower every Nigerian Coffee lover to become a home barista.

At Zuma Coffee, we’ve always believed that great coffee shouldn’t be confined to cafes. Every coffee lover should be able to brew coffee at home. This July, we’re taking that mission to new heights, creating a vibrant coffee culture right here in Abuja and the rest of Nigeria.

3 Ways Zuma Coffee is Revolutionizing Nigeria’s Home Brewing Culture

Zuma Coffee’s story began in 2020 in the lush, high-altitude region of Taraba State, Nigeria. Cultivated by the skilled hands of 800 dedicated coffee farmers, Zuma Coffee has grown from humble red berries to a coffee blend that offers more than just exceptional taste and aroma.

Zuma Coffee embodies a deep connection to rich African heritage, bringing warmth, joy, and a sense of belonging with every cup. This is also why one of its missions is to get you brewing coffee at home. From buying fresh coffee beans (even green beans) to learning how to brew your coffee – including simple machines, grinders and top-notch espresso machines – Zuma has you covered.

Below are 3 ways Zuma Coffee is bringing you many steps closer to your favourite drink.

Creating a Vibrant Coffee Community

At its core, Zuma Coffee’s mission is to cultivate a vibrant and engaged coffee community, hosting online and offline events where coffee lovers can connect, share their experiences, and learn about their favourite brew. These gatherings aim to create a sense of belonging and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Zuma Coffee’s efforts are not just about making great coffee; they’re about building relationships and inspiring a collective appreciation for the art of coffee making and coffee drinking. By bringing people together, Zuma Coffee is presenting coffee as more than just a beverage. It is a shared passion and a cultural phenomenon.

Brew and Balance: Yoga and Coffee Workshops

Zuma Coffee hosts a monthly yoga and coffee workshop called “Brew and Balance. ” These unique sessions combine the tranquillity of yoga with the craftsmanship of coffee brewing. Participants start with a relaxing yoga session, to center the mind and prepare the body. Following the yoga practice, attendees dive into a hands-on coffee brewing workshop, learning to brew simple coffee and immersing in a coffee-tasting experience. I bet some people cannot tell the different flavour notes in the different cups/types of coffee.

During these workshops, Zuma Coffee experts guide participants through tasting the coffee and simple ways to brew a cup of coffee. From selecting the right beans to mastering brewing techniques, these sessions are educational and meditative. You can describe the Brew and Balance workshop as a sensory coffee experience.
